A Day in the Life at RGP: From Idea to Execution

People often ask what a typical day at RGP looks like. The truth is, the only constant is that each day is different—sometimes radically so. That’s part of the beauty: there’s a sense of freshness in the routine, a day-to-day that never quite settles into a neat pattern. It’s exhilarating, but it also comes with its own set of challenges. Some projects flow easily and gain momentum, while others stall or delay unexpectedly. At the same time, you’ve always got to be looking ahead—connecting with new clients, discovering fresh ideas, and making sure the pipeline stays warm. This reality is what makes every day at RGP both a challenge and a creative spark. Since I’ve dedicated myself to RGP full-time, I’ve learned to embrace that constant evolution.
In today’s job market—and really, in business as a whole—connections are what drive success. Networking is how you find your dream projects, collaborators, and clients. The best opportunities often aren’t posted on job boards; they’re found through relationships and trust built over time. That’s why I spend one to two hours each day reaching out and engaging. Maybe it’s a direct message to a creator whose style I admire, or a thoughtful comment on a post by a company I’d love to collaborate with. Engaging with people and brands on social media isn’t just about visibility, it’s about credibility. It’s how you show that you’re interested, knowledgeable, and ready to contribute value. My background in sales taught me that trust isn’t built in a day and leads don’t convert the first time you pop up in someone’s feed. It often takes multiple touchpoints—eight or more, statistically—to convert a cold lead into a warm relationship. That means consistent, meaningful interactions: subtle reminders that I’m here, relevant, and ready when they are.
But let’s be honest: I’m not a huge fan of social media’s darker sides. I know it can be manipulative, toxic, and discouraging. So I made a conscious decision to go against that grain. My presence and content aim to uplift rather than tear down. I’d rather build people up, celebrate their successes, and offer value. Sure, haters will always be around, but I believe in not feeding that fire. Instead, I choose positivity, community, and genuine connections. That’s what I want my brand—and my day-to-day work—to represent.
On any given day, you’ll find me maintaining contact with my recurring clients. Even if their projects are in a lull, staying top-of-mind is key. I don’t see it as nagging; it’s more about effective, constructive communication. I want them to know I’m here and ready to move forward when they are. Open lines of communication prevent surprises and help everyone stay aligned. Maintaining these relationships is a daily effort—reaching out, touching base, letting them know I’m invested in their success and standing by for when the timing is right.
My hands-on work varies depending on the projects at play. Some days I’m deep in the edit bay, refining long-form content or assembling hype reels for sports teams. Other days, I’m scrolling through freelance marketplaces like Upwork or responding to inquiries on Fiverr, where I’ve built a strong track record with over 100 five-star reviews. Balancing these tasks can be tricky—I try not to stack too many editing deadlines on the same day—but flexibility is the name of the game. If I have to pivot mid-day, I do so, and I’ve learned to embrace those last-minute shifts as part of the adventure.
One of my non-negotiables is personal growth. Each week, I choose a theme—something like "Be the Story" or "Focused Destinations"—to guide my mindset and goals. I also dedicate time to learning new skills. Last week, it was mastering color grading for S-Log footage. This week, I’m immersing myself in Stephen King’s "On Writing" to sharpen my storytelling instincts. By continually pushing myself to learn, adapt, and refine my craft, I ensure that I’m never stagnant, never coasting. In this industry, if you’re not learning, you’re falling behind.
I also spend part of my day scheduling social media posts and brainstorming ways to create content that’s aligned with my values—positive, genuine, and forward-thinking. Consistency in messaging isn’t just a marketing tactic; it’s how I stay true to my vision. It’s also part of maintaining my own sense of direction. I struggle sometimes with dreaming big, but I’ve learned that envisioning the life I want under the RGP umbrella helps turn those dreams into reality. By painting a clear picture of what I’m working toward, I set the stage for those visions to come to life.
In the end, a typical day at RGP might not fit neatly into a box. It’s always evolving, often unpredictable, and occasionally challenging. But that’s exactly what makes it rewarding. Each day I’m forging new connections, nurturing existing relationships, expanding my skillset, and staying true to the vision I have for RGP’s future. That’s what a day in the life looks like—from idea to execution, and everything in between.
